Malaysian Family Day 2010

The 1st Malaysian Family Day in Chennai was held on Saturday, 1st May 2010, at HUMA Garden, Rajaji Salai, ECR Road. All Malaysians residing in Chennai, businessman, students and officials were among the attendees.

The programme started around 2.00 pm with the registration and ice breaking session. This was later followed by the opening speech by the Malaysia Consul General in Chennai, Encik Anuar Kasman. Food was later served with mutton biryani, sambal udang, chicken curry, nasi impit and it’s kuah kacang, fried noodle, fresh made Dosa by the pool and lots more.

Kids game was the first to start, with finding sweets in the flour, musical chair and popping the balloon. They really had fun and within minutes after completing their games, the kids were already splashing in the pool until 7.00pm. The adults also were much more intersting, they were divided into 6 groups and had a game similiar to the Amazing Race.  All the groups need to go through a few tasks assigned to them such as decorating a watermelon, coconut bowling, collect coins from the pool (with closed eyes) and a newspaper fancy dress.  Each group was presented with a hamper. Finally came the Lucky Draw to end the day, few draws were made and most of the attendees were lucky enough to brought home intresting prizes with them.

By  the time all the programmes were finish, all the tummies were hungry again, some of the attendees left, while some continued with the meal. It was a fantastic day, where everybody enjoyed themselves. Heartiest congratulation and thank you to the Consulate General Office for the effort taken in organising the day.
